California Here I Come!

I found this picture on Facebook today and wanted to share it because it totally represents my state of mind right now.

I'm headed home to California tomorrow and thats all I can think about right now!  So excited to see my wonderful parents and bury my toes in the sand!  {The week off of work isn't too bad either!}

Unfortunately, one thing stands between me and my trip . . . . packing. . . . so many clothes . . .

Maybe a martini will help . . . .

Until tomorrow . . . in Cali!

Jack Spade & Barbour

Jack Spade & Barbour

My Barbour jacket gets so much use during the winter months.  This is a great collaboration between two awesome brands.  Very sharp!

I've seen the movie a hundred times but never read the book.  Not surprisingly, with my love of horses, I just cant put it down.

Favorite Fragrance:

Estee Lauder

A great blend of Tuberose and Gardenia that has definitely become "my scent" over the last few years.  I almost hate to post about it because I love it so much!

Chandon Limited Edition

Nothing better than a glass of bubbly to end the week and kick off the weekend.  Cheers! Have a great weekend!

A New Find

Over the past few weeks I've been reading more and more about BB creams {airbrush in a bottle!} so after finding a coupon for L'Oreal's Youth Code line in my latest In Style magazine, I thought I would try it out.

Avail. at Drugstores: $16.99

BB cream stands for Blemish Balm or Blemish Base and is meant to be a multi-use product.  They act as a moisturizer, foundation, primer & sunblock and are a great cross between makeup and a skin care product.  Historically these have been huge sellers in the Asian market and are starting to make waves in the US.  Many mass and prestige brands have products to choose from: Stila, Estee Lauder, Garnier to name a few.  Most are lighter than a foundation, but provide more coverage than moisturizer, which was great for me because in the summer months I try to avoid traditional foundation when I can.

I have only used the L'Oreal Youth Code BB cream for a few days, but I do like the finish it provides.   Like most brands, L'Oreal offers multiple shades to match your complexion -- though I think I may have gone too dark with "medium."  But it didn't feel like I was wearing heavy makeup and I really liked the even coverage it provided.  Many of my blemishes and dark spots seemed to disappear.  I also love that it has SPF in the product - it means I don't have to layer one more product but still protects my skin! I definitely am a convert and can see this product as a permanent addition to my beauty routine!

Have you tried BB Creams?  What do you think?

Until tomorrow . . .

Chevron Style

I've been seeing a lot of patterns online lately, and one that has caught my eye lately is the chevron pattern.

It's a fine balance for me because I think too much pattern can be overwhelming, but as an accent this one hits the mark.

You can find this pattern in so many places these days:

Beach Towel: Haymarket Designs
Cutting Board: Haymarket Designs
Friendship Bracelets: Etsy
I Love Lamp
Coat Rack
Cake
Cookies: Good Enough to Eat!
What do you think of the Chevron pattern?

Until tomorrow . . .
